Committees
The PHACS Scientific Leadership Committee (SLC) is responsible for monitoring the scientific integrity of the PHACS protocols, close examination of the data generated by those studies, and reviewing and evaluating focused substudies proposed for implementation within the PHACS network. The SLG collaborates with Harvard, NICHD, and the co-funding institutes to identify the critical research questions and the best scientific methodology with which to address them.
The PHACS Leadership Group (LG) is the governing body of PHACS, with overall responsibility for the scientific, fiscal, and administrative aspects of the project. The LG works with the SLC to determine PHACS's scientific agenda, approves the overall direction of research (including sub-studies), and oversees the performance of the clinical sites.
The PHACS Working Groups were formed by the Scientific Leadership Group (now the SLC) in 2008 and are responsible for close examination of the data in their domain and for the development of abstracts for presentation and manuscript publication.
