PHACS Film Series

Our youth participants, caregivers, and families come from across the United States. Watch some of their stories below.

The PHACS Network: Through Your Eyes

To commemorate PHACS and all the ways it enriches our lives, we invited our leadership, staff members, clinicians, researchers, and community members across the network to share what they most appreciate about PHACS. Combining footage captured at home and in-studio, we created PHACS Through Your Eyes, a short video aimed at capturing the vivacious and caring spirit of the network.

My Life, My Story: Growing Up With HIV

In the segment below, PHACS Peers United Group Vice Chair Enise shares her experience of growing up living with HIV. This video originally aired as part of a session at AIDS 2020: Virtual called "The very long and winding road for young people living with HIV: Stories and solutions from youth to youth."

StoryCorps Discussion about HIV and Maternal Disclosure

The segment below features two of our mother-child pairs in the PHACS Community Advisory Board and Peers United Group for young adults. Kimbrae and her son Gamon, and Stephanie and her daughter Lexi, interview each other about their experiences with HIV, stigma, advocacy, and maternal disclosure in a StoryCorps format. This pre-recorded, edited segment aired on July 1, 2020 as part of the 6th Workshop on Children and Adolescents HIV-Exposed and Uninfected, a preconference session for AIDS 2020: Virtual. The original unedited version of the discussion can be found here.

"Faces of PHACS" Young Adult Documentary

"Faces of PHACS" is a short documentary featuring the stories of Young Adult Community Advisory Board participants in PHACS. It highlights their individual stories and hopes for the future, their reasons for participating in research, and what their hopes are for the future of PHACS.

"PHACS Community Voices" Community Advisory Board Film

"PHACS Community Voices" features members of our Adult Community Advisory Board (CAB) members exploring what it means to be connected to each other and to PHACS, and why CAB voices are important in research.
